  1. Biofuels.

Biofuel cars haven't recharging time problems...

  2. A horse. tagger

  3. hydrogen fuel cell

  4. Electricity from offshore wind, wave, ocean current turbines can provide a lot of power to recharge electric cars overnight along both coasts of the North America.  For the inland areas, wind turbines in the windy Great Plains area and solar power in the dryer western areas can provide power.  See Business Week magazine, July 7, 2008 issue page 46ff for the full story.

  5. Biofuel is surely the best choice.

Also compressed air car will can be a good cheap city car.

  6. Electric vehicles, no doubt.  Electric motors are extremely efficient, electric vehicles only require 10% the parts of a gas vehicle (low maintenance), the technology is developing rapidly, and the infrastructure (power grid) is already in place.

Hydrogen cars have serious roadblocks.  Biodiesel using algae oil is also very promising.  See links below for further details.

  7. If you are at all interested in saving the environment, electric cars still have a huge drawback. The majority of our electricity is produced by burning fossil fuels to produce stearm. More CO2 released into the atmosphere and higher energy prices...

  8. Hydrogen fuel cells, they're easy to obtain. Things like solar only work at day and ethonal is very expensive! Good luck on your best answer!

  9. Natural gas!!! We own 2 natural gas-powered vehicles, both made years ago by Ford, so the technology is already here and has been for a number of years. Now we just need better infrastructure throughout the country for refueling them. It shouldn't be tough to do, since many households already have natural gas for heating and cooking. Plus, it's cheaper than gasoline by a long shot AND way cleaner for the environment. That's my quick 2 cents on the subject.

  10. I think biofuels made from algae and bacteria are the most promising since it can be made at massive scale and they are cheap to produce. Plus they are better for the environment!!
