What alternative benefits are being offered by employers to offset business travel by car?

Money, ie they pay you more.

Huh?   If there is business use of an employee's car, they are reimbursed up to (for 2008) a maximum of $.51 per km (the actual amount is up to the company.

Any other form of 'benefit' would be taxable, but my question would be: why would they muddy things like that?  Just pay the milage and be done with it.
