  1. Well, if you're looking for absolute 100% zero footprint period. then nothing. The oil guzzlers are even whining that solar is more polluting than oil because of the "pollution that goes into manufacturing the panels"

or that wind requires us to build windmills which are supposedly even worse than oil drills

Personally i'd rather have any decrease in pollution. anything else is like saying "well we can't be 100% clean so me might as well make the biggest mess we can"

  2. None.  Anything burned will give of a gas of some sort.  remeber the saying everything has an equal and opposite reaction.  Nuclear does not pollute the air but no one wants to build more nuke power plants which is better than coal or oil burning.  Wind plants do not work because we would need millions of them.

  3. Hydrogen

  4. All FOSSIL fuels pollute: however a coal is the most dangerous, then goes oil (and it's products), and then gas.

Burning any fossil fuel produces carbon dioxide, which contributes to the "greenhouse effect", warming the Earth.

Burning coal produces more carbon dioxide than burning oil or gas. It also produces sulphur dioxide, a gas that contributes to acid rain.

  5. CampHelp is incorrect. Not all energy sources create pollution.  Of those listed below, only bio-fuels inherantly release CO2--but from plants that have sequesteed the carbon first, so there's zero net impact

Not all methods have zero envrionmental problems. Waste from nuclear fission (not fusion) msut be permanantly storee.  Some (e.g. hydrogen) require that the initial energy soruce be non-polluting or it is simply a way of using energy, not of reducing pollution.

    Currently feasible/in use:

    solar

    wind turbines

    Nuclear

    Hydroelectric

    Under development:

    tidal

    geothermal

    hydrogen fuel cells

    bio fuels (as ccarbon neutral)

    Long range:

    Fusion

  6. Nuclear Power is the best because it actually is feasible. But we should keep cars on gas but just increase the fuel mileage.

    CO2 isn't a pollutant!

Didn't you people ever listen in Science class in 7th Grade when they told you that everything begins with the SUN and CO2 along with WATER in photosynthesis?

Global Warming is just an increase in Solar Output and it hasn't gone up in a DECADE!?!? How did this happen even when CHINA is Building a couple more coal plants per week?!?! Learn the facts....

  7. Nuclear Fission, Hydroelectric, Wind, Solar, Geothermal can all produce heat and/or electricity without adding much CO2 to the atmosphere and very little other pollution.

  8. Please correct me , if i am wrong, put i remember any ting organic can be fermented and turned in PARTLY to Alcohol.--There is lots of organic waste every were, leafs, cut Grass, shred ed Christmas-trees and so on....All it tacks is some swimming pool sis pools in the dessert, where the heat of the sun does the evaporation to separate the alcohol from the water and here it is ,mix with gasoline, a cleaner burning gasohol. The WAST-product would be fertilizer witch could be sold to.

  9. All sources pollute the air. Even hydrogen pollutes the air with water vapor. Too much water vapor in the air is pollution, just like too much carbon dioxide. People will ALWAYS complain about pollution, by complaining about things we today are not worried at all about. Just like 50 years ago nobody cared about carbon dioxide since it is a necessary and naturally occurring gas in the air.

  10. Ironically enough it is France that has shown the way.  Starting with an American design they now lead the world in nuclear power.  Battery powered cars are here now but if you plug in at home and your home is powered by a coal or oil fired power plant you are still poluting..

  11. Geothermal.
