This a big debate for me, dealing with all of the pricks at school. I was born in Australia and have currently live there. But, my mum is an Asian and my dad is European, what does that make me? An Asian (as THEY say)/ Eurasian (my parents opinion on my heritage), or Australian, since that's what I think I am.

  1. i would say Australian because that's where you were raised or you could just say you Asian European and Australian nothing to be ashamed of, it makes you, you

  2. You are Australian, because you were born there and have Aussie citizenship, however, you are of Asian and European decent!  It is that simple!

I am an American, born and raised, but my daddy's dad was raised in Ireland, therefore I am an American of Irish decent!

What you are is based on your individual country of origin, not your parents, unless you want to claim to be either/or!

  3. You are a half cast , but an Australian.

  4. your an eurasianstralian you get the best of all 3

  5. If you are an Australian citizen then you are Australian that's all there is to it. Lots of us Aussies have migrant parents, I hope that doesn't mean that we're all going to all start defining ourselves as half this race and half that race as the Americans seem so fond of doing.

  6. You're all of those things, actually. Enjoy and be proud of them all. You are a citizen and culturally Australian, and ethnically/genetically you are Asian/European.

I am half French and half Polish, but born and raised in American. I consider myself American.

All and all, it doesn't really matter. You have ties to all of them.

  7. Eurasian Australian

  8. You're all of those things! I'm assuming that they call you Asian because you have Asian features from your mom? But it really doesn't matter what you look like. All of those things are part of your identity. Don't let somebody else's definition of your heritage define you. Just embrace all the things that make you who you are.

That kind of sounds like an inspirational message from an episode of a children's show, but oh well. :)

  9. Australian, you where born and raised there.

  10. You are whatever you want to be. That is the most important thing. I say you are Australian, since that what you are, and identify with. Please don't put any stock in the people at school. It's not worth it.

  11. you can be whatever you want to be.

  12. Your a Eurasian from Australia. Can't change your heritage.

  13. You are whatever your passport says you are.

  14. You are Eurasian in terms of race. An australian in term's of Citizen

  15. Australian is simply your nationalistic identity. Your cultural identity is Eurasian. Many people's national identity and cultural identity don't necessarily "match" due to increased immigration in most 1st world countries.

  16. I find the forms that you are asked to fill in to give your ethnic background very strange.  I know that I have French and Dutch in my blood and I assume that I have some Viking and Saxon and Celtic blood as well.  How important is skin colour in all this?  Someone with a white only backgournd but who comes from a mix of Eastern Europe countries can hide behind their white skin and tick the UK White box.  If your skin is black or you have a strong oriental look you can't do this.  Just how many generations are you expected to take into account when filling in these forms?  When can a person like you say that they are Australian and no longer a mix of Asian and European?  My answer to all this is that you are a member of the human race and that is the only one that counts.

  17. If anyone asks what you are.

    You say Australian..

If they ask the same question again with some oomph.

    Australian nationality, Eurasian ethnicity
