The truth is, I have a dream.

A pure, unbelievable yet, real dream.

I would love to one day go to the swimming olympics. But, I've been thinking...The training that I'm doing now...If I keep that up I will definitely be on my way. But when I'm graduating highschool and in my twenties...I thought I should be going to college. And how could I keep up with both the 7 days a week training and college? Or do I HAVE to make some of the time cuts by highschool? Please don't come back with answers like "It's 0.02 chance you'll get in" Because you know what? If I want too I can. But I need help with this first! TY!

  1. If you are swimming in college, you will likely be practicing just as hard (if not harder) than you are in high school. Colleges often have doubles six days a week (if not more.) Also, there is no rule that you have to have cuts by high school. People of all ages can make the Olympic team.

  2. Sounds hard, but you need to try to do both. Plenty of Olympic athletes work full time jobs and train, why can't you go to collage and train? Good Luck!

  3. college can wait . extend high school by taking fewer courses.

  4. Something wrong here--7 days' training? Have not heard for any sport, as it would do more harm than good. Such an approach isnt healthy and one may resort to medicine/drugs to reduce the stress, mentally and physically. I would strongly advise you to speak to your parents, teachers and coach/es about your feelings or side-effects you may be suffering.

Never mind about 'slim' chances about going to the Olympics. As long as you have what it takes--a strong passion, a healthy and strong body of above-average standard--that should be enough. Just be disciplined, follow the required rules and sensible expectations from the relevant sources, and you will be a runaway success.

Put on a smile even in the midst of difficulties, for all life is like that. Best of luck and may your road to the Olympics be smoothly paved!

  5. take a little bit of courses like two classes a day then swim.
