What am I like?

Question

I'm talking to a bunch of women and one lady says her 40th birthday is coming up and we're talking about people hitting milestones etc and there's another woman who I know fairly well but more acquaintance than friend and I said 'have you hit the big four oh yet' and I should have said 'when do you hit the big four oh' because she said 'I only just turned 37' d'oh, what am I like, now she probably thinks I think she's over 40.......and the truth is, I can't really tell with many women between about 35 and 45 exactly how old they are.

So my question is, would you be upset if someone said that to you and you weren't quite there yet? I'm not yet 40 and I don't think it'd bother me, but lots of things don't bother me which might upset some other people so I just want a bit of feedback on how someone might feel about this kind of question.

na i dont think it would bother me...there is really no point in getting all upset over that.

i dunno really, i honestly would just laugh it off.. and forget about it.. its not like once you hit 40  BOOM! your old.. & every thing changes
