  1.      1. Try Meetup.com. You will find someone who will want to hang out with you no matter what you are/are not interested in.

         2. Plan what you need to do the next day (even if it's just going to the store) & lay everything out (clothes, keys, wallet, etc.) the day before so you can just get out the door & not find an excuse to wuss out the next day when you're getting ready.

         3. When you wake up, take a shower, throw on your clothes you chose the night before, and most important drink coffee. It will wake you up & temporarily motivate you to get out the door. Try doing at least 1 constructive thing a day, even if it's just dropping off a resume somewhere.

         4. This is the ONLY routine that gets me moving. If none of this helps you might need some chemical help from a prescribed antidepressent. Meds can really help. Lack of motivation is a main symptom in clinical depression & one of the first symptoms releived.

  2. You get up anyway. YOU are your reason to get up in the morning. You keep on going because YOU are worth your effort. YOu go ahead and get ready for your day. It may take a little longer because you are struggling but do not stay in the bed for days @ a time. If you are in the bed more than a couple of days (we all have down times and need to give ourselves that break) you get back up. Remember that you do not know what is ahead for you and you need to stay vigilant in making sure you take special care of your heart and mind. Have you been diagnosed?Counseling really does help.

  3. Keep getting up anyway. Read Ellis's views on depression. Get up to work out (endorphines), get up to clean, get up to keep looking for a job. Just get yourself out of bed and sit somewhere else, if that's all you feel up to. Preferably outside (melatonin).  If you don't, this could turn into a serious depression disorder, much harder to fix. Everyone goes through down patches and they end, you just have to keep going through them on rote untill it's easy again, and you have a reason again. Yes, it's hard and feels bad. It wont forever.

  4. you NEED daily routine. whatever it is . could be volunteering . the point you need to keep busy and have human contact. join a gym, get a pet if you can afford to. spend time with family or relatives. attend a course . research a project that might interest you.

YOU are the ONLY one who can help YOU.

people may sympathise with for a while then you will be on your own looking for company.

  5. the best answer i ever got to this question was to get in the shower, right away.  Make yourself go out, get some fresh air.  You might want to get in to therapy to talk about your depression.  Face it, head on, and then you will have no way to avoid it.  You are obviously unhappy with your lack of motivation.  You have nothing to lose by getting in the shower and getting out there, and chances are, you will be happy to know that you tried.  Trying motivates more trying, and eventually you will have what you want.  I would also recommend a non-vocal form of expression, journaling, painting, drawing, exercise, etc...

  6. The answers I read so far were all good answers.  In addition, read my Yahoo! blog http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-IeUS6eQye... .  Although it is not specifically about depression, the various tips there can be very helpful.

  7. I once felt like this so I forced myself to have hobbies and interests, and to meet new people. BUT the best thing you can do is seek a therapist.

    Good luck.

And always hope, I am fully recovered from being suicidal and live a happy fulfilling life. Keep your head up

  8. First get a piece of paper and a pen and list the top five things you have always wanted to do -

like going to the zoo, a museum well these are some things I want to do- yours would be different.

yeah and you just go out and do them

cant let circumstances decide your mood, we have a short time to live and we can either suffer through it or totally have a blast!!it is a choice!!

    have fun

  9. Just keep moving forward and try to stay positive, I'm going through a similar thing I lost a lot do to bad decision making and I found myself in those shoes you just gotta keep pushing forward and keep trying and you'll find a job and you will meet people.

  10. There are jobs available out there. What do you do best ?  Something I'm sure !

LEARN how to get interested in something or someone !  Do what you don't feel like doing and your feelings will change.  Life can and is exciting when you choose to look for someone you can help and not sit and wait for someone to come to your rescue.

That is not a "feel good" situation. If you want to feel good, then DO something good for others. Little things mean a lot and anything is a start !

Everyone could say they are not interested,  Choose to get interested in something. Do something for free and feel better about yourself.  Then go looking for a job !  People need people and sounds like you are available...

I have a personalized book with my name throughout and it has helped me tremendously. You can "get interested " . Life is a blast when you help other people !  Put a smile on your face and get out there where the hurting people are.  Say something encouraging to someone.

Look for people to help.  YOUR life will change !!!

I suggest you get this book that has YOUR name throughout the book that is SO full of encouraging and inspiring thoughts that YOU CAN DO..It's all about YOU !

Get one for yourself at the site in the source line below.  It will change your life...Put forth effort and turn things around !  You can do it !

Take charge of who you are and who you are meant to be !

  11. Well first thing, get in the shower, let that warm water just pour over you, nothing relaxes me more, then stop moping and get out of that house, go window shopping, or take a long walk, remember the job will not come to you if you do nothing about it, put out resumes and go talk to people in person about jobs, keep looking, one will come sooner or later..
