What am I supposed to while changing planes?

I am moving w/ a friend from California I think the time for changing planes is only about 30mins

well if you're traveling with someone, talk to them. or read a book, listen to your ipod, bring a portable dvd player. what do you normally do when you're bored?

Have the flight attendants let you be first in line to leave.

Depending on how big the airport is you probably wont have enough time to do much. They'll probably be boarding the next flight by the time you get off the first plane.

That's not enough time to do anything.  You will need to get off the plane, then go take your c**p to the other plane, check in, then board.
