  1. when ever I get into a problem ....I resort to 1 drill.  take a 7 iron....feet together use 1/2 swings   (3 o'clock to 9 oclock).  concentrate on nothing but pure contact.  Hit about 50 balls this way......The problem seems to just disappear once I have grooved contact and tempo.

  2. It sounds like your grip is in a far too strong position.  In other words, it's rotated too far to your right as you look down on it.  This will cause a shut clubface which results in hooks and shots too low.  This is a guess as I cant see your swing or grip.  Make sure the v's formed by you thumb and hand point to somewhere between your nose and right shoulder.  In other words, weaken your grip.  It will feel terrible at first.  You may hit some shots high and to the right.

  3. Try not swinging as hard. If your pushing or hooking it to the left, its either too far up in your stance, or you are swinging too hard and hooking it.

  4. Hi, i am off 13 and some times my drives do weird low hooking shots as well, and the annoying thing is i dont know what i am doing wrong.

So i just keep my swing the same and remember to; keep my head down, keep that left arm straight (if you are a right handed golfer) and i dont try and absolutely crush the ball.

try it , you might see a difference(hopefully lol)

  5. As you swing down you are turning your club face in such a way that it is putting a spin on the ball and causing it to hook.

If you can't schedule a lesson try going to the driving range and hitting a couple of balls.

Do it in very slow motion and stop just as you are about to hit the ball, look at the face of the club.

People tend to twist the club just slightly on their down stroke causing the face of the club to turn.

    Hope this helps

  6. I play off 9 and have been playing for many many years and funnily enough (although I didn't really find it amuzing at all) came across a driver that did pretty much that same as what you're describing.  I've never had this problem with another driver EVER.  Anyway my point......I'm firmly convinced it's the shaft.  Can't be the head & as you've suggested 10.5 degrees is pretty normal and what's left...grip!  won't be that.  I've always found for every club there's a specific way it likes to be hit....particularly with drivers.  Some you have to swing slower, some faster, etc etc.  So I believe you'll have to be prepared to experiment...keeping in mind if you have to alter your swing too much it might not be worth keeping the club and either getting a different shaft or swapping clubs.

  7. open your face and try to come bring your swing over the ball to promote the sclice that should get it in the air. another thing u might b doing is putting topspin on the ball so u might want to try to put the ball more in the middle of your stance.

  8. You could be:

    * swinging faster then normal

    * coming out of the shot too early

    * lifting your head up as you hit the ball

Try not to worry about it too much, if you practice with your mates maybe get them to check it out and they'll probably will be able to help. Good Luck.

    Have a good one...

  9. if this is an issue that has suddenly come up, you should check the face of your driver to see if it has collapsed at all - use a credit card or a ruler to check it.

If it's not that, it's the dreaded OTT move (over the top).  You need some "plane" advice - you're losing your connections and getting outside of your plane.  If you need a quick fix, slow down your transition from the top and keep that upper left arm HARD to your chest while you swing down (hit some balls feeling like your left arm always touches your chest all the way across your bicep) - then just release your whole body and let it fly.

  10. I think that you are swinging too much across. It will help if you can swing a little bit more in front of you. I know it works for me but try adjusting your feet in a closed stance.

    Best of luck.
