When i try to hit a high note, my voice kinda shakes, and if i actually go through with it, i believe my voice will break up. So what am doing wrong? singing on the wrong key? Is there any websites where i can find tips and help on singing?

  1. I'd agree with everything Jazzin It Up said, also try a few things:

    - Make sure you are singing from your diaphragm not from your throat, push from your stomach to have proper air support

    - On high notes my vocal teacher always told me to raise my eyebrows...not sure why but this helps.

    - Make sure your mouth is wide open this will help clear things up as well.

  2. The best thing you can do is get a professionally trained voice teacher. It is important you know what your voice classification is (contralto, mezzo soprano, soprano) so you know if you even SHOULD be hitting those notes. If you are not used to singing in your higher register, your voice will shake and crack because it is not used to singing in that range. Only time, practice, and vocal instruction will rid you of that. Also, depending on how old you are, your voice might be changing, and girl's voices can change as much as boys, which means it will crack until it gets through that stage.

As I said before, the best thing you can do is get formal training. It can be detrimental to your voice if you are trying to hit high notes the wrong way. Your instructor will be able to tell you exactly how to stretch into that register correctly and with clarity and ease.

    Hope that helps some. =)
