I ask anyone speaking from experience, what are some things that you should never forget when you're moving to another state for college, that you might normally forget?

  1. You want to pack everything that you would bring on a trip with you except you bring your entire wardrobe(at least i did) plus sheets, pillows, towels. I packed up almost my entire bedroom. And you also want to bring things with you that remind you of home and to make your space your own. If you are in a dorm room I got a mini fridge for my room as well as a microwave for snacks and what not for later at night or if i didn't want to go to the dining hall. My room was a suite so I shared a room and there was another room next to mine and the two rooms shared a bathroom. So in that case we had to buy our own cleaning supplies and toliet paper. Also keep in mind that when sharing a room you don't get tons of space so you get a closet, a desk, a bed, and maybe a dresser that you and your roommate can organize any way that you want. So, you might want to think about extra storage like stacking blocks etc.. and don't forget the computer. I know that it sounds like a lot but it all fits somehow and you can always get the little extras as you need them. I hope that you have fun, some of the most fun and best friends that i made were when I lived in the dorms/ went to college!!!

  2. I live in CT and my brother for his first year of college went to Massachusetts. He transfered for this year to go to Georgia. Anyway he pretty much remembered everything too much. He had too much coffee, towels, food, sheets, toothpaste, clothes, shoes, sunglasses, gaming systems, umbrellas, and wayyy too much medicine, shampoo. My brother said it was embarrassing when they had these guys take everything out of the car for his dorm. Even though the night before he took out a lot of things my parents still had a cramped ride back with all the stuff! The thing he didn't have enough of was water bottles!!!!!

  3. Toothbrush, don't laugh it was the first thing i had to buy

  4. If you're living in off-campus housing...toilet paper.

If you live on campus housing...shower shoes (thongs, flip-flops, etc.).  Trust me.

If you have a ton of electronic devices (ipod, laptop, etc.), get a strip that will accommodate several plugs (get one that has surge protection).  Many dorms and off-campus housing do not have that many outlets.

Many dorms are not air conditioned; if yours isn't you may want to bring a fan.  Check with your college.

  5. Charmin. No one likes the sand paper the front desk of the dorm gives you! A broom! if you live in the doorms, bring a broom & dustpan, your floors will be dirty. Our dorm rented out a vaccuum cleaner but they didn't have a broom & we had tile floors.

  6. Jeans, clean underwear and beer
