  1. take lessons - everybody can swim - even a puppy can swim.

  2. huh?

If you are scared of drowning it's important to relax, the more you splash the faster you sink.

  3. I am very scared of water and wanted my grand daughter not to be like me, so I registered her for swimming lessons in the summer. She came to me crying and begging not to go because she was scared, so I told her she did not need to go and guess who went instead of her?  IT's ME !!! In the beginning it was very hard because I had to put my head under the water, but now, after a few lessons I enjoy it very much. I advise you to take a few lessons, you'll see, it's great after the first five minutes. Tell the teacher you are scared and he will teach you accordingly. Good Luck.

  4. Because you afraid you will sink and drown. Everybody goes through this. Are you actually afraid of water? If so suggest you go to 'Y' and Rec Centre and join a 'fraidy cat' swim

class which will help you get over this. If you just don't swim

or float but are ok in the water. Then get in the water and

play. You know run in the water, splash around throw a

ball, splash other people. Eventually you will fall over but the water will buoy you up. This shows you how easy it is to

float. I don't know where you swim but if it is say a pool.

stay in the shallow end. That way you avoid that feeling that you could drown. Unless you are a toddler or having a heart attack no one drowns in a couple of feet of water. Try squatting down in the water so the water comes to your

chest. then lean back again the wall of the pool. just relax.

let your feet slip forward slowly. you can feel yourself starting to float. as you become more confident allow your feet to

rise in the water while still maintaining contact with the wall so you know you can grab it at any time. (you can also hold on to the wall while you do this) eventually your body will float.

When you feel comfortable and relaxed let go of the wall.

your body will naturally float. That is the first step to learning how to swim. Good luck!!
