  1. You won't need any money on the ship.  Everything that you purchase onboard will be charged to your room with your Sign and Sail card (room key).  As for seeing a show alone, you should be able to drop your girls off at Camp Carnival.  They are available during the day and evening.  In the evenings, Camp Carnival offers a "slumber party" for the kids with snacks, games, and movies.  Check the Carnival website.  It should be able to answer all of your questions.

    Have fun!

  2. just sodas, and alcohol or included and pics and salon stuff, camp carnvial is free service for most of day at late night i think it cost.I wold bring about 1000 or so to spend..excursions or expensive and if u like to buy pics that is expensive too..have fun

  3. Hi!  I've been on a few Carnival cruises, so I may be able to help.

Most food is included on a Carnival cruise.  The only exception that I have found is the things at the cafe.  There are specialty coffee drinks and desserts that cost money.  Desserts in the dining room and at the buffet are free, though!  Alcohol and soda are not included.

The children's program is free from a set time in the morning until 10 PM.  From 10 PM until 1 AM it is $6 for the first child in a family per hour and $4 per hour for each child after that.  I have taken part in Camp Carnival and LOVED it!  I'm sure your children will too.

On the ship, cash is not used.  You will give them a credit card number before boarding and you will be given a Sail and Sign card.  This card is used as your onboard credit card and your purchases are charged to your room.  You can keep track of how much you have spent on the in-cabin TV or at the Purser's desk in the lobby onboard.  Bring some cash to use in port.  Many places in the ports do take credit cards and American cash.

Cozumel is a great place for shopping.  I also went to the beach when I was there.  Be sure to bring sunscreen.  There are many shore excursions that you can take.  Check the Carnival website for a list of excursions and prices from the ports that you are visiting.

Shows are all included!  Be sure to catch the magic show.  It was my favorite!

    Hope this helped!

  4. All food with the exception of soda, bottled water and speciality resturaunts is included in your fair.  You can usually bring a 12 pack or 2 of soda onboard although tea and multiple types of juices are free and available 24/7.  Camp Carnival is free during the day, there is an extra charge for night time child care and there usually is 1 overnight slumber party.  As far as cash goes,  as mentioned everything is charged to your sign and sail card however you should have some cash as it will be needed on shore.  Also, you should have some small bills to tip for room service,  baggage handlers, tour guides etc.  As far as swimming goes, most ships have 3-4 pools including 1 shallow childrens pool.  YOu shouldn't have any problem making sure that your kids get to spend time in the pool.  In Cozumel, you really don't need to sign up for any excursions.  The taxi's are Gov't controlled and Coz is very safe for tourist.  My suggestion is to take a taxi to one of the beach clubs such as Mr. Sanchos or you can go to the state park  Chan........ (not even going to try to spell it).

  5. It sounds as though you are a single parent.  Did you know you need permission (notarized affidavit) to take your children to Mexico?  If you just show up at the cruise port without it, you will be denied passage.  I assume your divorced husband still has child support to pay and has visitation rights.  There have been too many cases of a parent taking their children to Mexico that the Mexican government requires the notarized affidavit of a parent taking children into Mexico.  It does not matter if you are divorced or not.

Anyhow, no matter what others may say, 3 and 5 are too young to be taken on a cruise.  Will you really want to have to sit in a nice dining room on the ship with 2 young children at a table with strangers for 1 1/2 hour dinners?  This is not going to be a picnic for you either.  Also think of the other passengers who paid lots of money to go on the cruise - they do not want to be subjected to whining rug-rats while they are on vacation.

  6. Daycare and alcohol were extra as was any spa treatments.

How will you take in a show at night? What will you do with your little ones?  Check out Carnival's website to see which ships are children friendly.  Some cruises are loaded with young adults and your little ones will not even get near the pool.
