I know it varies greatly, between men and women, sizes and how active you are, but as a general?

A balanced diet and exercising regularly is the best way but if you only wish to lose weight by cutting down on your calories, what would you eat? And still remain healthy and not starving yourself?

  1. check  with  this daily calorie need calculator, based on age, weight,

enter your desired weight, and calculate. Then just eat the needed amount of calories, and diet yourself naturally into it!

When you calculate the calories, it's all the same what you eat. You may eat two slices of cake a day - that will be your daily amount of calories, but you will be hungry all the time in between, and it would feel that you ate little, when you ate a lot calorie-wise.

Hit on vegetables and fruit. Vegetables are filling - but they do not last long. You will want to eat again after a huge salad really soon - in an hour or two. Top them with low fat protein - turkey and chicken b*****s, if vegetarian - low fat curds and cheese.

  2. Use a calorie counter to find out. A calorie counter is a weight loss tool. You can find a free one at http://www.projectweightloss.com/index.p... I use it too.

  3. Do not ever go under 1200 cals/day without consulting your doctor. When in serious weight loss mode I try to keep mine between 1300 - 1500.

You can go here http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie... for a calculator that will tell you what your calorie intake should be, based on your current size and activity level, to lose or maintain your weight.
