I just bought two alpine type Rs 10 as stated above. Im pretty new to this stereo stuff but im just wondering what kind of amp or amp would be enough to power them. Would two alpine MRP-500s work with one to each sub? Im sure most of you know but the subs are 500 watt rms each, and 1500 watt max each. Thanks

  1. Those amps would work well. But, for the money, I wouldn't go that route. Wire the subs and coils in parallel and look for an amp that is 750-1000 watts at 1 ohm. I found this one for about half the price if the two alpines. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...

I thought about recommending the MRP1000. But there is a snag. If those woofers are dual 4 ohm there is no way to wire both of them together at 2 ohms. Any way you go about it you'll either have a 1 or 4 ohm final load.

If they are dual  2 ohm then the MRP1000 would be your best bet.

  2. it really depends on their ohms.

I say get them at 2 ohms, with this amp

  3. if you wanna stick with all alpine i would go with this,

the alpine MRP-M1000 part of thier V-power line up, it runs 1000 watts rms at 2ohm, you can wire the subs together to get a 2 ohm load out of the amp it will be easier and you will need less parts with one amp.
