From what I've heard, MTX is a good brand and how can u beat 2 400rms subs for $159? I need to know what amp to buy for these subs so i can max their performance...I'd like to keep it under $250 for the amp

also any box suggestions??(unfortunate... only 28in. of space (width) in the prelude : / between the wheel wells)

  1. This one Would do a great job. It's a little over your budget though, like $10. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...

This one is a little closer to the price range you suggested. http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/...

Wire the subs in parallel. To a 2 ohm final load.

As for the box design. I would stick to the manufacturers recommendations. Around 1-1.25 cubic feet, sealed.
