  1. good brands will be MMAts, Sundown, Rockford Fosgate, Memphis.

if your on a budget, go with a Hifonics XXV series amp.

if you are just running one sub, i hope u got the dual 2 ohm voice coil.

if you are running 2 of those, a dual 1 ohm voice coil will be best.

that sub, with all the options including the internal cooling and if its the previous model with 3rd magnet.. should handle about 3200 watts rms for daily use, 4000watts rms for spl competitions *if you have a very clean sound, perfect electrical system* for short amounts of time if you got the SPL option instead of the Daily one. and remember... the BTL series was built for SPL only... so dont expect alot of sound quality coming out of them lol.

i own several Fi BTL's 18 inch subs... got them on 3200 watts rms each. bangs like a crazy m**o too. just make sure u spend on some good components to balance everything out.

and make sure you go with a ported box. and it will be a huge box man. i would recommend you a tuning frequency of 29~32 Hz with that specific model to get the very low frequencys with still decent sound quality.

if you just want SPL and gain a few db's at the term lab, go with a tuning frequency of 33~40 hz. but this will decrease the sound quality.

    great choice of sub man.

  2. go with jl audio 1000/1 2 if you have to.

  3. Some of the more popular spl amplifiers right now are

    Kicker zx2500.1d

    Hifonics xxv series

    Soundstream

    American Bass VFL series

    DD z series

    Powerbass Xtreme series

    Autotek MM series

These are just a few sugg. there are alot of good amplifiers out there you just need to stay out of the pawn shops and flea bay.

  4. Well first It depends on what voice coil configuration your going to buy.

After that it's just matching up an amp, if your looking to go cheap Hifonics has decent amps for cheap. They are not going to be the best in the Sq department, but they are good amps.

If your looking for SQ, Zapco makes some very nice amps.
