its a 10 inch, dule 4 0hms voice coil, handling 200-500 watts rms, peak power 1,500watts, alpine, what amp would suit this sub best??

I was thinking of gettin a ALPINE V12 Mono amp (MRD-M1001)

The V12 AccuClass-D mono amplifiers produce massive power for subwoofer systems

1800W x 1 (Max)

1000W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]

500W x 1 RMS [4 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]

700W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @12V (1%THD)]

350W x 1 RMS [4 Ohm @12V (1%THD)]

Would this suit my sub or would it be to powerful??

  1. 1000W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]  and be about right i think personal

and if not i would go for a vibe slick amp very good and not too bad pricewise

  2. with one 4ohm DVC sub depending on how it is wired you can get final impedances (ohms) of 2 or 8ohms

the lower the impedance (ohms) the easier/cheaper it is to power but the lower the sound quality

so you need any amp that is CEA-compliant and has about 500watts RMS at the correct impedance- and the amps specs are

    500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (CEA-2006 Compliant)

    1000 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

    2-ohm stable

    looks like a perfect match

  3. 1000W x 1 RMS [2 Ohm @14.4V (1%THD)]

turn dow the gain to compinsate for the diff in ohm load !!!!
