I am about to buy this enclosure http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_id=3966 and am wondering what amplifier i need to power it. I am looking at the Hiphonics Amps. I dont know much about this. Which one would be sufficient to power this.

  1. Are they dual 2 ohm or dual 4 ohm woofers? AS the previous answer says the kicker zx1500.1 is a great amp however it is not stable at 1 ohm. Therefore if your kickers are dual 4 ohm, they cannot be wired with this amp. I have two L7s dual 4 ohm and bought a zx1500.1 and was thrilled until i learned this little wiring problem. I ended up going with the rockford t1500-1bd, its a great amp but it might put out too much power for l5s. But if your woofers are dual 4 ohm, you will need an amp stable at 1 ohm. If they are dual 2 ohm, go with the kicker 1500.1 and wire them to a 2 ohm load. its a match made in heaven

  2. first of all thats a great choice i love kicker's but im about to save you alot of money. second hifonics makes really good amps ecspeicaly for there price.if you can afford it go with a kicker amp.

those subs are 600 w rms each so 1200w together. if you go with hifonics get a bxi 1606. for kicker get the zx 1500.1 and you will be bumpin in no time

heres a link for a 12" L5 you can also get a box from this site for about 40 bux.

all in all your going to get the same set up for about half the price
