  1. the Lumen is the space in the middle.  If you think of a person as a doughnut, with the hole stretching from the mouth to the a**s, the doughnut hole is the lumen, technically outside the body.


  2. well lumen is the "tunnel" in the cells,it can be blood food or just empty space

  3. Chuey is right - it's the empty space. In other words, it's the middle of the tube that the food flows down.
