What and why do you love Sociology?

Question

I know why I love it, but I was just wondering what it is about sociology that makes you guys love it????????

I am a soc. major.

Over the years I think I've learned a lot more about life in general, and what works best for me;

To me that's acting, where I've learned that life is all about human connections and relationships with others; without behavior and without someone to share all these beautiful emotions we've been given, I wouldn't see any purpose to live!

Which is why Psychology/Sociology is the real deal :)

I love sociology because....it is an area of study that relates to everyday life.  It's nice to know that what you study-MATTERS.  Whenever I go about my daily activities, watch a movie...or just about anything else I do...I can relate it to sociological concepts that I have learned.  Sociology is also amazing because it touches almost EVERY area of life.  When I first changed my major from Education to Sociology...I was worried.  I knew I loved Social Problems, Deviance, etc., but was concerned about future employment and the role that my degree would actually play in my life.  Well...after having an AMAZING undergrad advisor/mentor, I have learned to identify sociological concepts in the context of everyday life.  I also began to study Sociology of Disasters (which is so interesting) and started to realize that Sociology is indeed everywhere!  I have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to lecture in undergrad classes as I work on my Master's, and the experience has made my love of Sociology even greater.  It is so exciting to be able to study, learn, relay, and teach new concepts!!!

Anyway, my reasons for loving Sociology are endless...and the study of society, social relationships, social interaction and culture will continue to be part of my life.

I think I have a crush on Mr. V, who is now the Original V.  

Sociology, as he says, touches on every area of life. It's a subject that truly fascinates me as well. I'm also happy that here in this section, unlike the R&S section, people behave like intelligent grownups, which is such an immense relief and a respite from the vitriolic verbosity in the R&S rubbish. The atheistic wolves make their home there and lie in wait for an unsuspecting new lamb who happens to wander in not realizing they are about to be slaughtered.

i love being able to recognize how different things are connected. It has truly changed the way that i think about things.

I love Homans law, it has really appealed to me the most. I like to look at different pieces of research related to the law.
