Can you think of a better example of sustained energy in action than the gazelle?

Gazelles are known as swift animals; they are able to reach high speeds (as high as 50 mph) for long periods of time.

Thanks,

  1. I would think hummingbirds. They are constantly active; defending their territories (including feeders!), pollinating, raising young and most of all the migration. Please see link for details, 500 mile journeys. Wow!

    Hope this helped! :)

  2. High ranked animals in the cat family, u kno, like jaguars.

  3. I don't get what you trying to gain weight has anything to do with it.

And, why do Shrews bother you?

The Shrew is the answer to your question.  They never stop moving and eat constantly, and therefore have a short lifespan.

  4. I think I have your gazelle beat.

The Amethyst Woodstar Hummingbird can beat its wings up to 80 beats per second and its heart beats at 1,260 beats per minute!  And it hardly ever lands.  When hummingbirds migrate it is generally accepted by scientists that most Ruby-throats, for example, fly non-stop across the Gulf of Mexico in the spring, and probably in both directions.  And their wings are beating multiple times per second the entire way!  Now that is sustained energy.

  5. A shrew. There is one kind that eats so much if it doesn't eat in 4 hours it will starve to death. Always active and looking for food, constantly. Very active.
