  1. almost any animal especially decomposers

  2. I agree it all depends on the location of your story. In an urban setting it could be a raccoon, skunk, rodent, maybe at a stretch a cat. In a more rural setting it could be any host of animals raccoons, skunks, rodents, coyotes, wild cats, bears, wolves, badgers, wolverines, basically any meaat eating animal. But, there is one important fact you need to keep in mind is that all the animals I have mentioned and those I have not for the most part would not eat humans unless there was one of two factors the animal is sick or is desperate for food.

  3. Coyotes, raccoons, crows, maybe vultures, foxes, maybe stray dogs and cats, and definately insects such as ants, flies.

  4. Dogs are bad about chewing thier owners faces off if you die and lie around in their presence .

  5. Wolves MAYBE, depending on location of your story.

Bears MAYBE, they're everywhere, they'll eat anything when hungry.

Turkey vultures DEFINITELY, you can even find these in city neighborhoods.

  6. Well the ants would probably get to the body first.  Then the flies would start laying eggs and soon the maggots would be eating the flesh.

  7. wolf , coyote, dog, cat, rat, opossum....

  8. dog

    cat

    rat

    mouse

    flies

    beetles

It's not an unusual thing. Ambulance teams frequently have to collect remains that they refer to as VIB: Vermin Infested Bodies

  9. Mice, rats, ants.

  10. It could be any kind of animal even insects.  Any animal that eats meat could have done this even your pet dog and cat.

  11. a hog

  12. Wolf, coyote, a dog even.

  13. Great Thi was right-on when he said a hog.  In fact, if you want to dispose of the body entirely except for jewelry (so the deed can be found out), pigs are your answer.  The only thing you have to do to get a pig to eat a fresh carcass of any kind is to give it a whiff of the animals blood.  I've heard of people losing fingers because they forgot a cut on a finger when they went out to feed the pigs.

How do you get the pigs into a suburban neighborhood?  Have farms nearby, have the county fair be nearby, have them be someone's pets.  Pigs are much more accepted in suburban neighborhoods than they used to be because those little pot-bellied pigs became so popular as pets.

  14. A human psycho.
