What animal would go in my veggie garden and eat all my beets leaves off?

    They will eat the leaves off of most anything close to the ground.  You have to literally build a cage/fence that they can't get thru to keep them out of the garden.

    If you live in the city - and less than likely to have rabbits around - - more than like some sort of bug.  If this is your situation - they have organic options that are totally vegetarian/vegan friendly at any garden center.

  8. ground hogs and deer are the likly varmit. you need an electric fince for deers and ground hogs have to be killed if you want beets. if it is deer you will find deer tracks and a fince will keep them out if you can find the trick to makeing them work. I have had to quite planting beets in the medow because the ground hogs eat them and the soy limas so we get nothing.

    sence i do not stay awake at night and watch my garden all night long the ground hogs do not get my soy limas anymore because i do not plant them. no, need to plant food that the varmets can get to if you are not willing to get rid of the varmet. natue is good and food is wonderful but when they get together one or the other will win and if you want to eat what you plant you have to choose to plant or to kill. This time the varmets won I not planted soy limas or beets this year.
