  1. Where I live (Southern California) mountain lions are rapidly dying.

I've also noticed seeing no where near as many deer as I used to.

  2. The Kit Fox which would normally be found in South West USA and North Mexico is conservation dependant. Which means that it is very endangered indeed. The Gray whale which swims along the West Coast of the USA is also conservation dependant.

The Northern Right Whale which swims off of the coast of Western USA is endangered.

  3. Tons. I have included websites strictly on endangered species and then on groups such as the Sierra club and audobon society.

    Try these:

    http://eelink.net/EndSpp.old.bak/ES.list...

    http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/pr/species/esa/

This one I have included because it points out some of the U.S.'s problems with conservation.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/20...

    http://www.sierraclub.org/

    http://www.audubon.org/

    http://www.ducks.org/

These organizations are all over the U.S. and are concerned about conservation. From there you can network and find out more.

  4. Plenty! More than a lot of people realize. Check out this site - there are plenty like them too - just google it!

  5. Some species of bats are endangered, and with the recent die-off of bats in NY, Vermont, and Massachusetts (some caves lost 90%), bat conservationists are worried.

I believe this group may even be located in the northeast.

  6. There are WAY too many to list here..check out this website to find lists of mammals, reptiles, plants, birds, amphibians, etc that are endangered in the US:

  7. try the WWF site or the Sierra fund
