What animal(s) can survive in heat really well?

I mean the pet kind. WHat kind of animals or birds...

Lizards do really well in the heat.  In fact, they need it!  Here in FL where I live it gets to be 100 degrees F and there are lizards running around everywhere.  They're pretty cute, too.  I want to catch some and put them in a cage on my back porch and have a little lizard habitat so badly!  But my husband won't let me.  :p

Anoles and geckos are small, or you could get an iguana and walk it on a leash like a dog.
