I know this is a really weird question. But, it came randomly to me yesterday and I felt bored at the time, so yeah that's how this random question came. Anyway, what animals do not have tongues? Or are there no animals without tongues? Thanks for your insight!

  1. worms...i think.

i would say bumblebees but i know from experience that they do, because one licked honey off my finger one time.

  2. bugs? are they technically animals i forget...

  3. i don't think fly's have tongues, but idk if they are an animal and i'm not positive on that

    and do turtles?

i've never seen one on them!

  4. bugs

  5. wow that is a really great question I've never thought about it until I read this I know jelly fish don't have tongues

  6. Xenopus - African Clawed Toads do not. Swallowing is accomplished by flexing the jaw and muscles below the eyes. Very odd to watch their eyes recessing while swallowing a bug.

  7. starfish, sea urchins, crabs,lobsters,squid, octopus,worms,slugs,catapillers,spiders, mosquitoes

  8. One's that have had them cut off, silly.

  9. fish, insects, crustaceans, mollusks, I think there is more

  10. I think a turtle doesn't.

  11. o.O interesting question.

uhh i guess like bugs and stuff, right?  things with antennae, etc... well lessee... well butterflies have those straw things, right?  i don't think those count... the proboscis things.  weird...  oh wait, here is what it says on the wikipedia page for "Tongue"

    "Non-human tongues

Most multi-cellular animals, that is, members of the subkingdom Metazoa, have tongues or similar organs.

    (...)

Some animals have prehensile tongues. For example, chameleons, frogs, salamanders and some species of fish use their tongues to catch prey. Many insects have a type of tongue called a proboscis that is used for the same purpose or, in the case of butterflies, to drink nectar [3]. The corresponding organ in ants is called the hypopharynx [4]. Molluscs have a rough tongue called a radula [5], which they use to grind food."

so i guess they do count, or they're just the "equivalents" or whatever

  12. I don't know. I think all animals have tongues.
