What anime would you recommend watching?

To be honest, i'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to anime, i've watched some recommend to me by friends but i haven't really found anything i really like.

I've watched things like: Fruits Basket, Ouran High School Host Club, Bokura ga Ita, Hellsing.

I did start to watch Bleach and Naruto etc etc etc, but if i'm honest i didn't really get into them.

Is there anything you like, that i might like? I'm pretty much open to any genre.

jon is right death note is great.  i also like fruits basket but one thats ok im not too keen on it though is ghost int the shell and one you have to watch is full metal alchemist

yeah imo Naruto and bleach are very childish. The ones that I would recommend are

Fullmetal Alchemist (everything about this anime is awesome specially the storyline)

Baccano ( the story line is great and it also has a lot of awesome and likable characters)

Elfen Lied ( its pretty gory but that just adds to the series)

Berserk ( Its an old school anime)

Death Note (One of the best Animes ever created)

Of the ones I've seen my favourites were:

Inuyasha, Trinity Blood, Fullmetal Alchemist, Elfen Lied, Rurouni Kenshin - they're all worth a watch!
