Question:

What antenna is best to get more channels with my box? ?

I just recently bought a converter box (a GE22729) plugged in my antenna (it just says Radio Shack on it) and hooked it up the box as per the directions and it is only picking up one channel and it's sub station, meanwhile without the box I have 10 channels or a little more if I maneuver the antenna. Is there a better antenna that works well with the convert boxes?

Help!! I don't want to be stuck with one channel come Feb.

  1. If your current antenna is a set of rabbit ears, they perform very poorly for digital reception.  An outdoor antenna is best.  Higher is better.  Use RG-6 or other low loss feedline.  Point it for the best reception.  Don't use an amplifier if you don't have to but you could try an amplified antenna or a separate amplifier.  Amplifiers don't work well if the signal is weak.  The amplify the noise as well as the signal and some amps introduce their own noise.  You should be able to get all the channels with just a little trial and error.
