  1. I think it leaves a lot of unanswered questions in the minds of fans, but if Randy feels it's time, than good for him.

Randy, like Matt Hughes, Royce Gracie and many others were the foundation for all of this MMA stuff.  Randy and Matt gave collegiate wrestlers a career beyond college, by showing former collegiate wrestlers had some serious fight in them.  Matt Hughes, Josh Kosscheck, Shean Sherk and Gray Maynard and others have shown the value of wrestling as a part of MMA.

I think that if this retirement works for Randy, than we, his fans should be happy for him.

  2. I thinkRandy Couture's retirement was well deserved in my opinion, he fought all the contenders the UFC hhad at the time, but I was very upset on the way he left. I felt he was wrong in pointing accusations at the UFC. I didn't see the need for him to leave on such bad terms.

  3. There are tons of reasons why Randy is not with the UFC.  He is also in a court battle over his contract with the UFC. The main reason is that he wants a fight with Fedor.  UFC is not willing to do a fight with another organization so that, for now, is not going to happen.  Randy got a huge offer from another organization to fight Fedor and with nobody left in the UFC for Randy to fight, he was really interested but the UFC said no.  Anyways,  I think Randy should move on and hopefully come November will see Randy  vs. Fedor.

  4. I think it sucks but If fighting means risking his health, then he really shouldn't keep fighting.

  5. ^ ^ ^^  he didnt quit b/c of his health

he apparently quit b/c he wanted to fight fedor emelianenko

  6. I think the claims that he had no one left to face were absurd.  He didn't face Nogueira or Mir among others.  He did, however, want to face Fedor and the UFC was doing a few things that were taking advantage of him and I understand his issues with Dana White.  A lot of people don't like him and it might one day harm the company if someone can recruit almost all of the great fighters who refuse to work with him.
