  1. Yes, ABS increases the stopping time in case of a crash. Although very minute for a real world situation they do increase distance. But in return the ABS gives a very controled stop which makes the difference between a crash and just miss situation.

Otherwise all the modern safety features are made with this one aim in mind and that is to decrease stopping distance.

  2. Do you mean decrease the stopping distance ???

    1. Anti-lock brakes.

    2. Traction control.

  3. Yes, anti lock brakes, better brakes than stock, and good tires

  4. abs increases stopping distance for someone who knows how to use regular brakes...

airbags, crumple zones, traction control, vsc, impact bars, all contribute to longer stopping times b/c they add weight... BUT overall the improvement in tires and braking have meant that today F-250 4x4's stop like corvettes from 30 years ago.
