  1. another is a word that means:

    an·oth·er

    –adjective

1.being one more or more of the same; further; additional: another piece of cake.

2.different; distinct; of a different period, place, or kind: at another time; another man.

3.very similar to; of the same kind or category as: What we need today is another Thomas Jefferson.

    –pronoun

4.one more; an additional one: That first hot dog tasted so good I'd like another.

5.a different one; something different: going from one house to another.

6.one like the first: one copy for her and another for him.

7.a person other than oneself or the one specified: He told her he loved another.

  2. edkootz's answer is one to one version. Another only works if the question is asked aloud and not written. The actual question in this case is "there are at least three words that end in G or Y...what is another?" which sounds like GRY. There are obviously many words that fit this one.

  3. angry

    hungry

    gry

  4. Besides angry and hungry, words ending in -GRY are arcghaic, obsolete or simply uncommon.

Fact:  All those words given from others answers are indeed words, however all uncommon words or obsolete.  What's the point??

  5. There is no other such word.  Unless you count meagry, and gry, and puggry, and ungry all these words I googled and they make no since to me.

  6. A riddle is a misleading, or puzzling question posed as a problem to be solved or guessed. This question is a riddle.

This riddle has been around for over 20 years! The reason why it continues to trick people, is because it is usually told or written wrong, thereby creating a puzzle with no answer.

The correct form of this riddle is:

“Think of words ending in -gry. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses everyday. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.”

Look familiar? The first two sentences have absolutely nothing to do with the riddle. They are there just to trick you.

So ‘what is the third word?’

The third word is actually “language” if you answer this question correctly.

“There are only three words in the English language.”

Get it? Three words? THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. Last word language?

Language is definitely something we use everyday. So there's your answer!

There are only two stand-alone words in the English language that end in -gry: angry and hungry.

To unlock riddles, focus on the words used. Read Carefully!

Here’s another riddle for you to try on your friends:

“Name this famous rock group who consists of four members. All four members are dead; one of them was murdered.”

    The answer is: Mt. Rushmore!

    :-)

  7. This is the (presumed) original version of the puzzle from 1975. The possible answers (if obsolete words, names, and hyphenated compounds of "angry" and "hungry" are allowed) are plentiful. Most of the 124 listed below were in the 1933 edition of the Oxford English Dictionary, and all have appeared in some major dictionary of English:

  8. if you are referring to the riddle:

Angry and hungry are two words that end in '-gry'. There are three words in 'The English Language'. What is the third word? Everyone knows what it means and everyone uses it every day. Look closely and I have already given you the third word. What is it?

The answer is 'language'. The key sentences are the second and third. If you just read those two, the answer is obvious. The first sentence is a ruse to throw you off. 'Language' is the only answer that fits the hints that follow those two sentence.

but, there are 2 other words, aggry and gry is actually a word. aggry is something to do with ancient beads, i believe, and gry is a measurment of some sort.

  9. Well hey... that question really got me thinking! Too bad I was doomed from the beginning! :P
