  1. As has been mentioned before, depends on country of Origin. However it may be that your country can produce for example low gluten wheat and need to trade for high content gluten. This was the situation between the UK and Canada, though I am no longer up to date with the actual tonnages.

There is also the issue of seasonal availability. A common crop may be imported when out of season in country of consumption. (Apples and other fruits are good examples)

Early potatoes is another type of example of this seasonal relationship. Potatoes have a higher premium in the early part of the season and consequently the market is filled with Jersey potatoes where they can crop earlier than the rest of the UK.

  2. A pin, a silver llama, from Peru, South America

  3. Coffee, tea, bananas, most tropical fruits. Most of these things, including bamboo, can be grown in parts of the US, but not in quantities enough to meet the demand.

  4. most pharmaceuticals

  5. potash

  6. Immigrants

  7. As you do not identify where you live, it becomes an impossible task to answer.

We do not have to get many things that are not in our own country, so perhaps the answer would be nothing. That does not mean we can get anything our hearts desire from the Falkland Islands, or Iceland. It means we could get along without what we could not get  in our home country.
