What are 5 good stocks to buy?

as a summer project, my dad wants me to choose 5 possible stocks to buy. anyone have any ideas?

RSTI: makes lasers for manufacturers.

Middleby: makes ovens etc for restaurants

DEO: brand names liquor

WFR: makes silicon panels for solar and computer applications.

Tell your Dad you want to buy pot !! After he gets off the floor tell him " NO, no...I mean POT ( Potash of Saskatchewan)..

that and a couple of other " agricultural" stocks have a bright near -term outlook... MOS ( Mosaic Company)  and/ or CF or AGU.

Other areas that could keep working are in metals/ mining/ materials ( parts of the world are building like crazy !! )

Some companies would be RIO...BHP..FCX..

...or look at big American companies that do a lot of business overseas...IBM..JEC..UTX..HON..MON..

...one thing...look- up  all these symbols  and find out what the companies are,  what they do...IMPRESS DAD !! ( maybe he'll open a real account in your name if you do okay !!)

... also, just mention that you'd like to keep just a little in an " energy ETF"... XLE .. " cause you " don't think the world has wised- up to the real state of this " energy crisis "  ( tee- hee. I can see him now...just knocked back a step or two...thinking : " who is this kid?")
