1.  The Chinese written language is estimated to be close to 4000 years old.  

2.  China was gathered into a country by Qin s**+ Huang by conquering various kingdoms in 221 BC.  The Roman Empire existed at this time.  The last Emperor ruled until 1912.

3.  Marco Polo is considered the first westerner to visit China in 1261 AD.  Marco polo visited the capital of Mongolia.  Today that city is now Beijing the capital of China.

4. Qin s**+ Huang (Keen Shee Who-ong) built the Great Wall during his reign as the first emperor of China.

5.  The Forbidden City was built during the Ming dynasty.  It was built as a palace when Zhu Di became emperor.  Zhu Di, moved the capital of China from Nanjing to Beijing shortly after becoming emperor around 1402.   The Forbidden City is actually a palace complex.  It housed the Emperor, concubines, relatives, priests and bureaucrats.
