I will all depend on how the new coach works with his players, and if he can produce a better game plan then his opponents. For a world cup, you need the team to be peaking around the semi finals and keep the momentum for the final, whilst still being competitive during the group stage and quarter finals.

I.M.H.O. If Australia choose to kick the ball, and go for points from the boot, as opposed to running the ball, and going for points from tries, then our chances will be very slim indeed.

If George Gregan is at the scrum base, then we are going to have a very hard time of it, as he is too slow it releasing the ball for his backs.  This is half the reason Stephen Larkham has been injured so many times.

gosh, the wallabies have been playing pretty bad as of late. it's not the same team of the 90's when they were dominant and could handle any team. now they look like they are missing that flow and the blame can't be attributed to one thing. so much has to be fixed and revamped for a serious bid to win the world cup. look at the teams that are playing like New Zealand, South Africa, France, England, and you see how slim our chances are!

the coaching needs to improve.

players need to step up.

we need a team that 'gels'

and we lost a very important kicker due to retirement.
