  1. Words are the magic of our lives. We can always be inspired by great quotes.

  2. Quotations are fine but there are no benefits to just learning those.

Learn the thinking and the arguments behind the quotations then- when you use them- you'll be able to justify yourself.

  3. Sir Isaac Newton, one of the greatest scientists of all time said "If I have seen a little further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants".

One of the secrets of success is to learn from the mistakes and hard work of others.  If you do not do this, you have to learn from your own mistakes - which can be costly, painful and traumatic.

Unfortunately, most people learn most of life's lessons the hard way - by making mistakes, and learning not to repeat those mistakes.

If you want a headstart over other people, if you want to be successful, and not have to suffer the consequences of your mistakes, then do as Newton did and stand "on the shoulders of giants".

Study the lives of great people, and learn what they said.

John of Salisbury said a similar thing:

"We are like dwarfs sitting on the shoulders of giants. We see more, and things that are more distant, than they did, not because our sight is superior or because we are taller than they, but because they raise us up, and by their great stature add to ours."

Charles T. Munger, billionaire partner of world's richest man Warren Buffet said in his book "Poor Charlie's Almanac" that the secret of being UNsuccessful was to "Learn everything from your own experience".  Basically he was saying that if you wanted to be successful, you must read, expand your mind and your perspective.

Learning the sayings of great people and studying their lives is a good way to do this.

  4. Well, think about it this way, if they are Great that must mean they know a thing or two; wouldn't it pay off to listen?

  5. Sometimes when you read these great quotations and think about them, they might not seem 'great' at all. But the point is, did YOU think of what they have said? Sometimes the advice they give is so simple, so seemingly obvious, but we need someone else to say it before we even think it. This may be advice for life,  great speeches of leaders, or even just displays of intelligence. But for this reason these quotes are inspiring and will hopefully cause a reaction in you. This is why they have come to be known as 'great'.
