  1. it's gives me many information about something..

when i turn the TV to discovery channel, i don't care what show it is as long as i am interested to the topic..

  2. Hi, I like these channels and the shows as it gives more of an insight to our history, and hopefully what can be learnt by it, as not to do the same again.

i just find them fascinating, and I'm not a philosophy student. So I have nothing to gain, but the love of the information and the unknown.

I don't have favourites, except ww2, i don't know why, i think it is because Hitler was such an evil man, yet his whole country adored him then were frightened of him and I cant understand, how this man rose from nothing to be one of the most powerful leaders in the world, and I cant understand why he had so much hate for the jews, and other people, why did he do some much testing and harming of the human bodies, like putting people in boiling water/or ice water, and other things I cant even put down, as it brings tears to my eyes, but yet I still cant stop watching him, I have so much hate toward this man, but yet he still fasinates me.

The discovery channel amazes me as we have such a beautiful world and they are finding alsorts of new things all the time, and it is so precious.

Hope that has helped, I could go on all day. sorry

    Minny :-)

  3. I watch more Discovery than History, but some of the things on Discovery belong on History. I watch Mythbusters, Smash Lab, Dirty Jobs, How It's Made, and Modern Marvels, and the specials about whatever, sometimes about dinosaurs, ancient Egypt, space, time, myths, and such. There is not a profound advantage to watching these shows, but you gain a lot of knowledge that many people would consider useless, and I just find it more engaging than some reality TV show.

  4. It's becoming nearly the only things you can watch on cable.

There are some programs we enjoy:

    > Dirty Jobs

    > How it's made (Canadian Show)

The history documentaries are interesting...however, if you know the subject more often than not they contain quite a few inaccuracies...using the old adage, "never let facts interfere with a good story."

Many of the nature shows are so agenda driven, they're hardly worth watching.

  5. I think there are great benefits because I often end up watching a doco on a particular topic I previously had not known about or had not been interested in.

  6. I like Myth Busters on the Discovery Channel. I find it entertaining, I have watched a variety of other history channel shows but I watch for entertainment.

  7. i love anything crime based on them. I'm a crime finatic!... most evil is fantastic on Discovery
