  1.   Good for the lower back, chest, shoulders, triceps and biceps.

There are so many ways to do pushups: Regular; Feet raised; Back against the wall; Wide arm; diamond pushups

I can do 100+ in one setting (did 102 for my APFT/pushup)

  2. well push ups are one of the best exercises you can do

1: they will tone your biceps and triceps depending on how you do them.

2: they won't make your body really strong unless you do a lot every night, but you will feel stronger and more agile

3: all you need is a floor and some inner will

4: the constipation is the result of a poor diet not from being weak, eat more fiber.

I can't give you my name, or location but I am a wrestler and I do about 100 push ups a day and I'm pretty strong

but if you can find a bar, try to do pull-ups too.

Those are even better for you.

Bench press isn't all that great because it only works your pectoral muscles and your shoulders, while push and pull ups work all of them

  3. 1.  Besides endurance(to a point) and a good pump really nothing unless you throw on a back pack with multiple weights in it.

    2.  Burn a few calories

and nope I don't do push ups, benchpress is far superior.

  4. Yes, push ups will most definitely make you stronger. You may not see immediate results, but start out slow and work your way up. Within two to three weeks you'll begin seeing results. I have been doing push ups twice a day everyday since I was 15 (I'm now 36.) I started doing them after I failed to do as many as most of the other guys in my gym class. During a fitness test, I only did 27 in 30 seconds whereas the average was about 33; and the top guys did more than 40. I knew I needed to get stronger so I started doing 25 push ups every morning and every evening. Long story short, by my senior year in high school I was doing 150 push-ups per set and my all time max in one set is 280. I've gotten a little soft in my old age though. These days I do 75-85 every morning and 55 before bed, but can still do 100+ with relatively minimal difficulty.

  5. The first guy must be semi-retarded, pushups are one of the most benificial excersices you can do. They will deffinitly increase your upper body strength and I think they are somewhat fun.

and the other thing about them is that with just a twist of the hand they can work a whole different genre of muscles.

If you have the time, go to www.fight-site.com the conditioning article list several different pushups you can do.
