I just heard the word on the new ABCFamily series The Secret Life of a American Teenager. And if I don't know the word how am I going to understand the show.lol

Why are you asking about ABC in the Astronomy section? Curves could mean a lot of things, depending on the subject. In mathematics, y = x^2 is a curve, a fat woman's rear end is considered a curve.

people use the word "curves" to describe parts of a woman's body......when they say that someone is "getting curves" it means that her b*****s are getting larger and that her hips have gotten bigger.  

usually that is a way of saying that a girl is growing into a woman.  

for example, on "secret life of the american teenager", adrienne has larger b*****s and bigger hips and would be considered "curvy" but grace has smaller b*****s and hips and would not be considered to have curves.
