  1. Democats and Republican are the two major political parties.

Democrats tend to believe in change, and Barak o Bama is one. Also, democrats are more liberal.

Republicans are more conservative, and want to keep things the way they are. Bush is a Republican.

  2. democratic means for the people,by the people and of the people.Republic means rule of govt, without king but rules by representative

  3. Democrats kill babies and Republicans want to save Babies.

  4. Today hard to see any difference at all in them.

  5. Democrats are Socialists. Republicans are Socialist-lite.

Honestly though, Democrats are the party of Socialism in the US. Now that doesn’t mean that they are all in agreement. Socialism, like Christianity, has many and often conflicting sects but are generally in agreement on the basic tenets of the idea of collectivism. Republican (the voters, not the elected officials) favour individualism or Classical Liberalism. Some Republicans tend towards more Libertarian views while others favour bureaucracy though not to the degree fancied by Democrats.

The essential difference is that while Democrats see power in collectivism and see government as the solution to almost any problem. Republicans see power in individuality and see government as the primary cause of nearly all problems. Democrats believe that rights come from government. Republicans believe that rights come from the people. Democrats believe that a decent society empowers government to do all things of benefit to the people. Republicans believe that a decent society places unbreakable limits on government authority even at the price of preventing it from doing those things which may benefit the people.

To a Republican one should never give the government the authority to do anything that the individual cannot do himself (as a right) without performing an immoral or unjust act.

  6. They are both wanting the best for the country.  Liberals and Conservatives are a whole different story.  They want what is best for themselves.
