now, no offence to federer fans. Im jsut asking to hear other people opinion. bu stil, im a rafa fan :)

anyway just to get some thing clear before the the ultimate match tmrw i just wanna hear what you guys think of federer's weak points. to be honest, and from all of the matches ive seen wit fed, i cant think of one. he is great on every court but he loses mostly by nadal but i cant think of why?

the only thing that can make him lose on clay is probably because of the difference in confidence between fed and nadal. i mean, both have great skills, and if its not skills, its the mentality, no?

what do u guys think? what are fed's weaknesses?? (if there is one, please say!)

  1. I'm a Rafa fan too.  I completely agree with what you were saying.  I honestly think Roger has the tools to beat Rafa, but when it comes down to it, his mentality breaks down.  Look at Hamburg, he was up 5-1 in the first set and Rafa came back to take the set.  There's no excuse for that on Roger's part...

    Vamos Rafa!

  2. Heavy top spin and high bouncing ball away to his backhand is Roger's problem.  That's one of the reason why he has such problems with Rafa on clay.  This is a very typical problem with one handed backhand players.  You either have to take the ball early or sacrafice position to take it late.  If he takes the ball late, he opens up the court.  Rafa is gonna kill him with any sort of open court :)

  3. Generally, he doesn't have any weaknesses, but on clay against Nadal, it would probably be in the way he, for the most part, can't seem to solve Nadal's overwhelming topspin and brilliant defensive skills.  On other surfaces, the topspin isn't as much of an issue, but on clay, it really bounces up high, especially to Federer's backhand corner because it's coming from Nadal's lefty forehand, and makes it not only difficult for Federer to hit back with any kind of authority with his backhand, but also to run around and hit it with a forhand.  I think the overall clay court prowess of Nadal is what gives Federer so much trouble, not necessarily any weaknesses in Federer's game.

  4. Rafael Nadal on clay.  That's the only weakness that he has.

  5. mirka

  6. Playing against Tim Henman was his only weakness specially when he played Tim Henman @ wimbledon. After Tim's retirement i dont think he has any or too many weaknesses.

  7. I don't think so...

Even Federer have several weaknesses in clay than in the other court...He still can beat Rafa who is invisible in the clay..

It's just confidence between Federer and Nadal that is the difference

  8. i believe it is mental.  nadal is mentally tougher than roger on clay.  i mean roger can say or deny it all he wants because i do not believe roger at all when he does the prematch or postmatch of any matches that he has.  i think he just try to talk to get into other mentally weak players that he can win them any day.  i mean if i was his opponent, i would not be listening or believing a word he says, period.  i just work hard on my game.  i would just let my racket do all the talking.  i will only believe myself , my coach and my family.
