  1. The African nations of Cameroon,Namibia,and Tanzania were German colonies during WW1.


  2. I don't think the Kaiser really had colonial interests. It was more or less a matter of keeping up with the other "superpowers" at that time. But, well, in some states it worked out "the German way", unfortunately, as can be seen in this BBC documentary:
