What are Guitar Cabinets and Amp Heads?

I am quite confused about Guitar Cabinets and Amp heads. What are their functions? Would it be possible to plug in my amp into a cabinet?

ok, it IS possible to use guitar amps with your cabinet. and basically what they are are the following...

- Cabinet Head- Is something you hook up to your cabinet which allows you to plug in your instrument.

-Cabinet- Is usually a 4 speaker kind of box thing. which allows the sound travel from either the head or the amp.

guitar cabinets are cabinets made for guitar and amp heads are the had of an amp and umm.. they are used to play in gigs and... yeah :D

The head is the amplifier, meaning the electronics.

The Cabinet is just a box with speakers in it.

Guitar cabinets have both a small amp and a speaker.

Amp Heads are what they seem Amplifiers that need to be plugged into a speaker cabinet (w/ speakers) to be heard.
