What are Honors classes like?

My high school put me into Honors English, and Honors US History. Why did they do this? and what are Honors classes like?

Honors classes aren't that hard, they're pretty boring, just have less stupid people in them, i took my first non honors class last year, i could not believe the stupidity of those people. honors classes just expect you to do more on your own, lots easier for me to handle, if you don't feel comfortable with it, ask your counselor to let you change classes.

haha....sorry its just that i have english honors 2 and the  english 1 honors was tha hardest and they gave  me so much homework, but hey, maybe i am not that brite so good luck.

at my school honors history was tough, half of the students didn't get high enough grades to do onto ap!
