  1. They are imaginary lines running from pole to pole and they measure distances east and west beginning with the "Prime Meridian" of line of longitude running through Greenwich (London) England.

  2. Longitude lines are slightly more complicated that latitude  lines, as the converge (meet up) at the poles, as they are vertical (y axis) sector of earths terrestrial co-ordinates.

    They are NOT parralel, but are seperated by 15degrees per line, which of course will look larger at the equator as the earth has a large radius, so 15degrees 4 metres from the pole wouldnt be big enough to stand in, but at the equator it covers a huge distance, considering 4 degrees along the earth is equivalent to one minute of time.

    They look like an orange after peeling, look at the orange sectors, imagine 24 sectors of orange, of equal sizes, thats what the earths look like, and they converge at the top and bottom of the orange, like the longitude lines to on earth.

  3. imaginary lines that run from the north ploe 2 south(i think!!!}
