  1. The Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be playing in Super Bowl XLV in two weeks at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX. It wasn't an easy trek for either team, though. This is how the NFL betting lines shook out on Sunday to set up this Super Bowl between two of the most storied franchises in the history of professional football.

Green Bay Packers 21 - Chicago Bears 14

It looked like it was going to be another Green Bay shootout early on, but what ended up transpiring was another Chicago style slugfest.

QB Aaron Rodgers jumped out of the blocks on fire, taking the opening drive of the game 84 yards for a TD. He completed each of his first five passes and had a rushing TD that came with 10:50 left on the clock in the first quarter. The next score came almost an entire quarter later, and it was RB James Starks that did the deed this time, rumbling into the end zone from four yards out.

However, Rodgers never really got back into the swing of things for the rest of the day, and the Green Bay offense was stifled the entire second half. Chicago lost QB Jay Cutler just before halftime, and h was replaced by the ineffective QB Todd Collins, who went 0-for-4 before getting yanked in favor of third string QB Caleb Hanie.

Hanie had only thrown 14 passes in his entire professional career coming into this one, and he did everything he could to guide the Bears to the Super Bowl. Though he put up respectable numbers, going 13-of-20 for 153 yards with a TD pass, most of the yardage of which came in the fourth quarter, he was also picked off twice, once by DT BJ Raji which was returned for a TD, and once by DB Sam Shields to end the comeback effort.

For Shields, the INT was his second of the game, as he also intercepted Cutler in the first half. He was clearly the hero on the day for a defense which allowed just 301 yards and forced three turnovers.

Starks ended the day with 74 yards and a TD on the ground. Rodgers went 17-of-30 for 244 yards with two picks in this NFL betting battle, and he had 39 rushing yards with a score. RB Chester Taylor and WR Earl Bennett had the TDs for the Bears.

The two offensive stars were RB Matt Forte for Chicago and WR Greg Jennings for Green Bay. Forte had 70 yards on the ground and 90 more as a receiver, while Jennings had eight snares for 130 yards.

The Packers ended up being in front of the 3.5 point NFL betting lines the entire day, and in spite of the fact that the 'total' was threatened both early and late, it never reached the closing number of 42.

Pittsburgh Steelers 24 - New York Jets 19

The Jets and the Steelers probably only ended up being separated by a mere yard.

It was a day of glory for the city of Pittsburgh, which ended up celebrating its team eighth AFC Championship by knocking off the Jets 24-19, but the final score wasn't nearly as comfortable as perhaps it should have been.

The Steelers jumped out of the blocks 24-0 in absolutely dominating fashion. Everything was going right for QB Ben Roethlisberger and company, and RB Rashard Mendenhall was already coming up near 100 rushing yards following a TD at the two minute warning that made the score 17-0 in favor of the hosts. For certain, it had appeared as though Pittsburgh had sewed up the victory on the AFC Championship odds on the next New York possession, as QB Mark Sanchez was sacked and stripped of the pigskin. It was returned by DB William g*y 19 yards for the TD that made the score 24-0.

New York wouldn't go away though, kicking a field goal just before the intermission, and scoring on a beautifully thrown ball by Sanchez on the run to WR Santonio Holmes, a hookup that went for 45 yards to make the score 24-10.

Roethlisberger struggled on this day and really got sloppy with the football in the second half, throwing a pair of picks. The second INT set up New York to make this a one score game again. Sanchez marched down the field to the Pittsburgh 1 yard line, where the Jets had it 2nd and goal. Curiously, two incomplete passes without even the attempt at a run set up a 4th down attempt, which was stuffed at the point of attack to give the Steelers back the ball. It was that one yard that New York was not able to get.

It did get a safety and pigskin back on the very next play, as Roethlisberger fumbled the snap, and he had to fall on it to concede the two points. The Jets came back and scored to make it 24-19, but they never got the ball back. Following a great kickoff return, Pittsburgh picked up a pair of first downs to make sure that it would be heading to Dallas for the Super Bowl.

Sanchez finished with 233 yards and two TDs in defeat, but he can certainly hold his head high after a great showing. RB Shonn Greene had 52 yards on nine carries to lead the way on the ground, but RB LaDainian Tomlinson only had 16 yards on nine totes of the rock. TE Dustin Keller caught eight passes for 64 yards.

For the victors, Roethlisberger only went 10-of-19 for 133 yards with those two previously mentioned picks. Mendenhall rumbled for 121 yards and a TD, marking the second time this year in which he reached the 100+ yard mark on the ground against one of the fiercest defenses that the league has to offer.

The battle to beat the AFC Championship lines just narrowly went to the Steelers, who had the nod by four points. The 'total' of 38 was narrow surpassed with that last New York TD with just over three minutes to go in the game.
