  1. Natural resources are gold, silver, copper, tungsten, lead, zinc, timber, fish. As for religions, that is tough. The country is very diverse, although the majority of the people are Roman Catholic, on the Caribbean coast Anglican and Moravian are the majority. Minor religions include Judaism, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Islam. Beliefs also vary. In the Caribbean coast there are two major groups, the descendants from Jamaican slaves from back in the days, and the Indigenous people. The descendants of Jamaicans have strong and similar ties with African beliefs, this can be seen in their Palo de Mayo festival along wit their music and dance by the same name. In the Pacific coast beliefs are similar to other Catholic Latin American countries. There are many folk beliefs in Nicaraguan culture. One belief says that if a person who has walked in the sun for many hours looks at a child with sun-irritated eyes, that child will be "infected with the sun" and will suffer from fever and diarrhea
