I know they put on some truly dreadful 'warm up' men before Palin's appearance on stage (I still can't get my head round the Mike Huckabee talk), I guess to try and make her look good, but she did put on a good show. I'm not an American voter but I was really impressed.

I was also really scared that this could see the McCain bandwagon getting out of reverse gear and into forward.

Us Europeans don't really understand who's side God is on when it comes to Oil Wells, Armament, and Abortion, and in this respect she did little to enlighten me, but she did do a really great job of stirring up the Great American Right.

So how does Obama reply? I don't need any derogatory answers, the Republican Convention is quite capable of doing that for itself.

  1. I'm a Canadian and i saw her speech. For a journalist, her speech was pathetic. Being a journalist you'd think she would be able to handle herself with confidence in the spotlight. I know she likely had speech writers but she sounded flaky and at time looked confused. Major Guliani did a better job than she did.

I don't think she was the right choice for the republican party. No experience on the macro side of the economy, I believe she is a ploy to sway the female vote perhaps, and doesn't look like she knows what she's doing. I am surprised they chose her.

  2. I doubt if he'll reply to Gov. Pailin, she didn't know what she was talking about anyway.  It's McCain's behind he has to spank.

  3. By doing the same thing he has done already.  Put down small town America and focus on her experience.  (As if his experience is any greater).

  4. Here it is:

Comrades, Fellow Travelers, and Extra-American Citizens of the World:

Our Cause of Hope, Change, and Peace is imperiled.  You, around the World, can Send a Message to the Americans, urging them to reject the Fascist, Special Interest, Daughter of the Western Degenerate George BUSH, and to EMBRACE PROGRESS!

I close with the Immortal Words:  YES WE CAN!

    B.H.O.

  5. I don't know. But I'll tell you this. If he thinks he's got a bunch of propaganda-brainwashed voters to deal with, he's in for a big surprise. McCain has taken on all the outlaws from Bush's regime (Karl Rove's gang). For those of you who have forgotten, Karl Rove ignored a subpoena from the Senate Judiciary Committee when they were trying to figure out just how nasty this Iraq bullshit really was. So unlike any other American that would be imprisoned if they ignored a judicial subpoena, Mr. MC Rove walked away without so much as a slap on the wrist. Is McCain and Palin going to fight corruption and obstruction of justice with people like Rove and Kissinger aboard? Considering they were the same people who created the Iraq war, what do you think?

As I said. I don't know what Obama has in mind, but I'd keep a bullet-proof vest on, and his head out of the clearing, because he's now face to face with some of the most evil sons of b*****s on the planet.

  6. Hey when he loses here in NOV. you can have him

  7. She Made the "Obooby" man look like a true beginner. This is some Gal to have on your side. Truly Amazing!

    Proud Vet, even prouder

  8. im sure he wet himself, then michelle changed his diaper and rocked him to sleep while he suckled on his big thumb!

  9. They will remind everyone that Palin said Obama was against developing domestic energy resources, and then they will show them this Alaska.gov web page that shows Palin endorsing Obama's energy policy.

They will then tell everyone that not only does McCain/Palin offer more of the same Bush philosophy, they also use his speech writer.

  10. What is there to reply to?  She didn't seem to actually put forth any new ideas or plans of her own, so we don't even have an alternative to defend against...

  11. He's gonna stick to his platform and not take any negative shots.

  12. Palin's speech was nothing more than predictable conservative talking points and she delivered them with all the skill of a parrot.

  13. I think Biden should face off with Palin, and Obama should do the same with McCain. Attack dogs are only lethal if you pay attention to them. Never make eye contact.

  14. Obama said Bush, Bush, Bush...It's all he's got, and it ain't gonna get him anywhere.  Americans aren't stupid, they want substance, and Obama hasn't had it yet.  I don't know if you were privvy to the free brats and beer rock concert in Berlin, but it takes alot more than that to win the American public!!!

  15. " i dont believes this white girl lied on me, now get over here an give me some suga"

  16. He should reply the same way he always does.  Throw the race card

  17. I think Obama will continue just as he has for about a week.

Palin appeals only to the far right and as people will start to realize that the Republicans have returned to the right religious extremists.

When the began the campaigns McCain was trying to attract the moderates instead of focusing on the Republican rightwing fringe. When he realized he had lost that struggle he turned 180 degrees and sold out to special interests as fast as only a truly desperate politician can.

McCain appointing Paken as his running mate has alienated the mainstream of America more than ever.

You can expect many more attack ads from the Republicans as they start to drop more in the polls.

After the week is up Obama will be back to hammering his points about the economy home.

  18. I lost count of the outright lies in her speech. She was basically reading GOP talking points. I pray the American public is not that dumb. Of course the partisan crowd ate it up.

  19. It's an old west thing when it was called The Wild West and photographers had weapons as props for the tourists. The wild west in mid America and probably Alaska still had small towns connected by dirt roads at least till the late 1980s.  Individualism was important when one was a day's ride or more from town.  Welfare was not a government platform until president FDR. People were also religious.  If the Taliban were Christians they would have fit right in in some parts of America in the 1800s.

Obama claimed the speech was written by a Bush writer.  Yes that was his attack.  But from a blog (see link below), the teleprompter broke so she had to remember the speech or ad lib and still be coherent.  Barack "I'm don't think meant that" Obama can't do that.
