  1. He is a double Olympic Champion...a feat not repeated by many athletes in NZ.  Ian's son Steven is racing in Beijing..so he is carrying on a tradition started by his dad...

    I grew up admiring Ian and Paul McDonald's feats as a child...they were always on TV too and they both look like very down to earth, decent blokes...
